Fethiye to Marmaris

Start at Fethiye’s harbour and spend the first days around Gemiler Island and the Göcek islands. The second half follows the coast west past Ekincik and Dalyan to Marmaris.

2. Day 1

   Kızılada

   Red Island and its lighthouse at the mouth of Fethiye Bay.

3. Day 2

   Gemiler Island

   Byzantine churches and a covered processional way on St Nicholas Island.

4. Day 3

   Tersane Island

   The ruins of an old boatyard among olive trees, with a sheltered anchorage.

5. Day 4

   Sarsala Bay

   Next to Bedri Rahmi Bay, where the painter left a fish drawn on a rock.

6. Day 5

   Ekincik

   Base for the river trip to Dalyan: Kaunos, the Lycian rock tombs and İztuzu turtle beach.

7. Day 6

   Kumlubük

   A sandy bay with a handful of beach restaurants.

8. Day 7

   Marmaris

   Into Marmaris harbour for the last evening; the old town is a short walk away.
