What is included in a gulet charter? Prices, meals and payment explained

What the weekly price of a gulet covers, why meals are separate, how the deposit and balance work, and what to tell us before you sail.

In short

A gulet charter is priced per week for the whole yacht, not per person. With Heritage Yachting, the price includes the captain and crew, the cook, fuel and the transit log — the yacht’s cruising papers. Meals are not included: on yachts with a choice of menus you pick yours, and on the others we send you the yacht’s menu. A 50% deposit secures your week, and the balance is due 30 days before departure.

One price for the whole yacht

You charter the whole yacht, with her crew, for your group alone, for a week of seven nights. The price is for the yacht, not per person: it is the same whether you are six or twelve on board, up to the number of guests she takes.

It depends on the yacht, the week and the route. July and August cost the most; May, June, September and October less. Our prices include VAT.

What the price includes

Every charter with us includes:

  • The captain and crew, who sail the yacht, handle the anchor and the tender and look after you all week.
  • The cook, who prepares your meals on board.
  • Fuel for the week’s route.
  • The transit log, the official cruising papers for your week on board.

Not included: meals

Meals are priced separately from the charter. On yachts with a choice of menus, you choose the one you like before you sail; on the others, we send you the yacht’s menu with your offer, so you know what to expect.

Tell us about allergies, diets or anything the children won’t eat, and we’ll pass it on to the crew.

Some evenings you may want to eat ashore: many of the bays and villages on our routes have small family restaurants.

How payment works

Send us an enquiry with your route, your week and the number of guests. We reply with the yachts that are free that week and a price.

A 50% deposit secures your week, and the balance is due 30 days before departure. If you book less than 30 days before you sail, the full amount is paid when you book.

Before you sail

A few things worth knowing in advance:

  • Boarding: usually in the afternoon of the first day; you leave after breakfast on the last. We confirm the exact times with your booking.
  • Children: tell us their ages, so we can suggest a suitable yacht and route.
  • Flights: our guide to getting to your gulet shows which airport to use for each harbour.

Questions and answers

Is food included in a gulet charter?

No. With us, meals are priced separately from the charter: on yachts with a choice of menus you pick yours, and on the others we send you the yacht’s menu.

Is the price per person?
